Due to some supply issues overseas, my order (among with many others) were delayed quite a bit. But I stayed patient and the guys at Scratch were more than apologetic, as well as VERY responsive and polite to each one of my many emails inquiring about the status. They even sent me a demo (in the 8620 Milled) with the same makeup to tide me over until the new wedge arrived. Now that's customer service people.

I had some buddies coming in from out of town for a 2-day golf blowout and I really wanted to make sure I had it in time to put it in play. The timing was good, and Zach from Scratch made sure to overnight the wedge (on their dime) to me so I could have it in time... along with a Scratch hat for my troubles (again, great customer service).

http://www.facebook.com/pages/GolfTipU/242391035825085Test Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16869870792008244442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23263131.post-54171420298291872662011-11-30T16:00:48.880-06:002011-11-30T16:00:48.880-06:00I happened to see earlier in the post you mentione...I happened to see earlier in the post you mentioned number 9 and going for the green in one. I used to work maintenance out at Spirit Hollow and at least 2, maybe 3 times a week if not more (weather permitting) a few of us guys would golf after work. When we got to number nine we always would play 2 balls, a safe shot and a, "go-big or go-home" ball for the green. Multiple times myself or other people we golfed with would reach the green. If i remember correctly from the black tees it measures 285 to the front of the approach, not taking into consideration the elevation change of 25-40 feet down hill it's not as hard of a shot as it seems. The only key is hitting it just right of the big tree that stares you in the eye. If you can do that you should safely land in the approach and with that much downhill grade your ball will roll considerably and most of the time reach the green, but be careful because the real danger on that hole isn't brought out to display until you hit the green with multiple different breaks and various pin placements it makes for a very difficult green.brandonboyle2011https://www.blogger.com/profile/15406855525717249084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23263131.post-80416910583157206162011-03-15T15:04:12.008-05:002011-03-15T15:04:12.008-05:00Hey there! You are spot on and correct to be critical of the course condition last year, but I wanted to let you know, if you don't already, that there is a new owner who has made course condition his #1 priority. Erin Hills will not open until late this summer, it will be walking-only when it does open, and even maintenance will be cartpath only this summer. (90 degree rule if they absolutely MUST drive on the turf.) In addition, the maintenance staff has been increased and the maintenance equipment fleet has been upgraded. In short, the legitimate complaints from people such as yourself have been heard and are being addressed -- agressively. Erin Hills will be a much different place this fall than you saw last summer. Hope you get the chance to check it out. Swing well.
